“The annual meetings of amateur journalists” or “Hamayesh haye Salaneye Roozname Negarane Qeire Heifei” which is held in Isfahan, Iran each spring is one of the biggest and most famous events for journalists.
Finding good abilities and training them in order to become professional journalists is one of the most important goals of the annual meetings of amateur journalists meetings. “The journalists’ syndicate of Isfahan” established these meetings from 2002 (1381) to prepare a good chance for the ones who are interested in journalism but don’t do that as their job to examine their ability of being journalist and grow it more.
In 2006, secretariat of this annual meeting celebrated its 5th session with nearly 100 participated groups from all part of Iran and also experienced a 150% increase in attendance.
For the last 5 sessions, “The annual meetings of amateur journalists” took serving the eager amateur journalists of all over the Iran as its responsibility. Today it has become a comprehensive journalism event in Iran with the largest scale, the largest number of attendees and enjoys the reputation as “Iran’s No.1 meetings of amateur journalists” by its workshops, competitions of the top writings (articles, news, report, interview & etc), the top newspapers (a practical workshop & an exciting competition) & also its exhibition.
The annual meetings of amateur journalists will be given more extensive and profound advantages after being expanded to the Muslim countries of Middle East.
Looking into the future, the annual meetings of amateur journalists, standing on a higher position with a wider horizon and a newer vision, will be a better server to reform, opening up, makes further contributions to the overall goal of ideal press society.
